We here at eVero just finished up another six weeks of Hire Me! This time, we hosted an amazing group from YAI, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
We covered all of the hiring basics, from where to look for jobs, to how to fill out an application, as well as prepping for the interview, and of course, the interview itself!
Additionally, we were excited to have Melissa C come in as a guest speaker, who taught us all the Dos and Don’ts of social media. (For example, DO: Maintain a LinkedIn profile. DON’T: Mention illegal activities on Facebook).
We also had a number of interactive exercises, including handshake practice, practice follow-up calls, and 3 weeks of mock interviews with our executives.

We started with what everyone was interested in doing for a job in the near future to help them prepare.
We took quizzes and gave out homework each week. Each day, we spent time roleplaying interviews. They did very good with the roleplaying with Ronald when it came to doing follow-ups on the phone.
We had Melissa as a guest speaker about what’s the appropriate way to use social media. We had rounds of mock interviews with the executives in our office, and did activities while they were waiting to be called their turns.
For the last day, we gave them certificates and took pictures at the end. Students learned some good things from the class.
